Two people.
One truck. Twelve years.
We started Bolt & Beam in 2014 after years of working under contractors who treated “small jobs” like nuisances. We do the opposite — small jobs, done right, are the whole business.
Small jobs
done right.
Most contractors won’t return a call under $5,000. We built a business around what they leave behind: the dripping faucet, the door that won’t latch, the spot of drywall that’s been bothering you for six months.
We’re Marco and Jen. Marco came up through union carpentry, Jen through historic-home restoration. We bought a 2009 Transit, named it Bessie, and started taking exactly the kind of jobs we wished someone had taken for our grandparents.
Twelve years later we’ve done 1,840+ jobs and we still answer our own phone. That part’s not changing.
The way we work.
We show up
Booking is a promise. We treat it like one. Late once in a decade, called you the day before.
We measure twice
Quoting is its own craft. We over-spec the trickier jobs so the price holds.
We leave it cleaner
Drop cloths, dust barriers, vacuum at the end of every day. You won’t find a screw in the carpet.
We tell you what it costs
Before we start. Not when the invoice arrives. Surprises are for birthdays.
The whole roster.
